A couple of points on Magic 25 and Red Chip relating to AXC.

I've got to believe that if the new Magic 25 issue started to hit mailboxes on Saturday, then the editorial deadline had to be well before the s-3 amendment came out. You can see on the latest M25 on-line update that they said AXC was up on rumor of a big contract with no mention of the s-3. In addition as someone else has mentioned, it is in the interest of Ind. Inv. to not have too many carryover names in order to generate interest and sell more magazines.

As mentioned on this thread on 12/5:

"BTW, it was mentioned on the Fool but not here that Red Chip posted an update yesterday on AXC. On Monday (12/2) I received the new issue of Red Chip with an AXC update which suggested that AXC was ahead of itself based on rumor, speculation and momentum players. But yesterday Red Chip reversed itself and posted an online update referring to the S-3 amendment and saying a keepered order looked close at hand and wouldn't be surprised if AXC exceeded its $12 price target before the next regular update in February."

Just to embellish Bruce Carton's comment of 12/7, I listened to the Bloomberg voice interview with Marc Robins this morning and he sounded very enthusiastic. He was asked which stocks that he follows could be on the list of the biggest gainers for 1997. He didn't hesitate to start with Ampex. He cited high inside ownership, low institutional following and big potential upside.

He said it looks like KM could be adopted by the entire industry over 2-4 years and that the upside was "huge." He suggested AXC could "easily" be a double or triple.

It's interesting to see Red Chip's progression over two weeks time from skeptical to top pick for '97.

I suspect as more brokerage firms and institutions learn the AXC story they will come to similar conclusions.
