Here's just a guess:

ISSI is what I like to call a "Taiwan Storefront". They have no fab, produce only one line of product (SRAMs) [OK, they also make some EPROMs and Flash, but I think they are 80%+ SRAM], and have almost no direct sales force to service customers. They rise and fall with the tide of SRAM pricing trends and the wims of memory investors.

IDT is a diversified company with multiple product families (SRAM is ther largest) including RISC Microprocessors (MIPS), controllers for WebTV (check out their thread), and others. Very similar to CY in their diversification. Also, IDT has their own fabs and their own sales force. Also, Montgomery recently raised their rating on IDTI.

Any questions?
