Jim,

Being a TA guy, what is important to me is the patterns and signals and other such nonsense I see in the indices I use. Now referring to the S&P500, the Williams A/D has crossed to the negative side of it's 17 day weighted MA. Now that has not occurred in the past couple of years without AT LEAST a week's pause in the markets and normally a month or more.

In addition, the binary wave has fallen back to zero and my own proprietary version of it has also fallen back to slightly above zero for the S&P500.

I guess the question in historical terms is... is this an Aug 97 event or something more ominous?

For me, the defining moment is when the Zwieg indicator triggers... and it looks like we need a move up further before we can even get a setup signal!

If we ARE in a bull move up, it looks like it may be more fitfull than the Feb move this year!

Bill
