<The packet also had stuff that Webley offers that Portico does not. IE: call conferencing and international calling capability for the same .149 a min, since the system uses comp telephony to dial out and only charges you for dialing in. >

I'm still trying to figure out this angle. When you think that everyone hangs on the idea that Portico needs to be resold by cellular services like Nextel, and then you look a ways that Portico could be used to bypass long distance rates at what point are these at odds?

Sure carriers want to have more air time, but can they miss long distance and roaming charges? As a consumer, it's reasonable to ask why these extra charges are there in the year 2000 anyway. When you look at how Quest is structuring their service, you can see that GMGC has a good partner. I think that idea of using computer telephoney to reduce phone bills is totally within GMGC's range. Conferencing is again an easy add on.

I think in the end, basic monthly charges won't be an issue. I think people will either learn that the service is killer and use it for everything, or they won't be very interested. We'll see.

Mark
