InSook, Thanks. Your sense of the stores or at least the computer aisles being empty coincides with mine, and the weather has not been that great here.

I had to laugh at the story yesterday about pc unit sales being up 37 pct. in June. Since they were down 18 pct. in May, that means that Windows 98 had a HUGE impact in one month of 12 pct. above the depression level sales of April. That is horrendous for a new MS operating system. And there is nothing new for years after Win 98.

I am more interested in seeing if Win 98 has any impact in July and August. My guess is minor impact in July and it will have fizzled out by August. All the while the drop in prices is making the new OS a non-event and maybe even a negative event.
