Steve, The big loser will naturally be Circuit City. They are literally pouring hundreds of millions into this futile product. Plus they are projecting it to lose some considerable dollars in the first few years.

The winners will no doubt include the national video rental chains who dodge this bullet and possibly see increased rental revenues from DVDs. Other companies, like Wave Systems may also benefit as the DIVX technology is essentially a metering technology. At one point DIVX (previously Zoom TV) and WAVX were in a patent interference process. I'm also investing in a private company with expiring discs that could also benefit. I'm really not sure yet who all the winners and losers would be. That is something that I hope this thread will help identify.
