Quarterdeck's CleanSweep Leads Corporate Uninstaller Market; PC Data's May Corporate Software Report Shows CleanSweep Out Sold Nearest Competitor By More Than Three Units To One

BusinessWire

MARINA DEL REY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1998-- Quarterdeck Corp. (Nasdaq:QDEK), the world's leading provider of PC helpware solutions, Thursday announced that the company's CleanSweep product line led the uninstaller category in the corporate market for the month of May according to recently released corporate sales figures from PC Data, the computer industry's comprehensive source for software and hardware sales information.

In its May 1998 report for corporate sales, PC Data reported that Quarterdeck's CleanSweep product line sold more than six times the number of units into the corporate space than did CyberMedia's UnInstaller products, and surpassed Symantec's Norton Uninstaller product line in units sold by more than three to one.

"The latest corporate sales figures from PC Data simply reaffirm CleanSweep's positioning as the market leader in the uninstaller software category," said Gary Ulaner, group product manager at Quarterdeck. "Corporate users and MIS personnel are discovering what end users have known for years -- no other uninstaller can match the ease of use, powerful performance and functionality of CleanSweep."

PC Data tracks corporate sales of utilities software through corporate resellers such as ASAP Software Express, Entex, Softmart, Software Spectrum and Stream International. PC Data's Corporate Software Report is distributed monthly.
