Elderly man cleared in Viagra attack Thursday July 23 1:55 PM EDT
ORLANDO, Fla., July 23 (UPI) - Prosecutors have decided to not file charges against an 89-year-old Orange County, Fla., man accused of attacking a woman who spurned his sexual advances after he popped a Viagra potency pill.
Larry Demorest spent three days in jail after the woman claimed he tried to kill her after she refused to perform sex for money.
Demorest, who knew the woman, admitted having a Viagra prescription although he said he did not need the medication _ but denied attacking her.
He and other witnesses said the woman was extremely intoxicated on the night in question and hurt herself while repeatedly falling down.
Prosecutors cited insufficient evidence to charge Demorest, and say the 34-year-old woman told conflicting stories and failed to attend a meeting they had scheduled to discuss the case.
Court records indicate and Demorest confirms his accuser had periodically stayed at his home in between her arrests on charges of assault, prostitution and drug abuse.
Nonetheless, Demorest holds no grudge against her, although he believes her accusation might have injured his reputation.
He said, ''Some people who don't know me, it doesn't make a good impression.'' But he added, ''I'm not mad at her. I forgive her.''
