EARTHWORKS INDUSTRIES INC - Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc. Receives
Benefits [249]

Canadian Market News from Market News Publishing, Wednesday, July 22, 1998 at 16:25

David B. Atkinson, President of Earthworks Industries Inc. (the
"Company") wishes to report that its wholly owned subsidiary, Cortina
Integrated Waste Management Inc., which is developing a landfill project in
Northern California, has now received the required $400,000 (U.S.) of
benefits, and deemed benefits, from a participant James A. Wyse Inc., so
that it will now be entitled to receive a 10% equity interest in the
project. The interest will vest upon CIWM receiving approval of the Lease
on the site lands from the United States Department of the Interior. Wyse
has the right to continue to earn interests at a rate of 1% for each
$40,000 (U.S.) of contribution to the project.
CIWM is now anticipating the release to it of the administrative draft
Environmental Impact Statement, which has been under preparation, by mid
August - approximately 30 days later than was earlier anticipated. CIWM is
still expecting a Record of Decision - which is essentially equivalent to
the approval of the Lease - from the Department of the Interior - by the
year-end, as previously forecasted.
