To all:
Have recently read that the telcos want to purch. a complete pckg. to implement the xdsl tech.
Supposedly, this has let to a consortium between WSTL, Nuko and another firm whoes name escapes me (I've got sometimers, not altzheimers).
I'm not trying to imply that WSTL and CAP are going to win but WSTL may understand better the need to provide a solution the cust. wants to buy(a complete systems approach).
Would anyone care to comment how Amati will be able to sell against larger, better financed comp. (not nec. WSTL) with a system to sell.
If a package of products must be put together to make the system work, Amati must be able to make it easy for the ind. to incorporate all the pieces into a reliable system.
I'm obviously not a techi. but I have the impression that it is not as simple as just having a modem at the telco switch and another in the home.
I have learned the hard way that the best product does not always win if the other elements of the marketing mix are not in place.
If I am wrong, pls. re. the need for an integrated system, set me straight.
If I am right re. the need for the system, does anyone have some insight re. how AMTX is going to get itself into a pos. to duke it out in the marketplace?
Rgds:
Cliff
