I "attended" a conference call this morning with Bioject and GeneMedicine. I noted the following points which you folks may find of interest:

On Merck:
- Upfront payment from Merck to Bioject of $1.5M to enter into discussions.
- Intent is for collaboration on a group of certain vaccines.
- Discussions have already begun, with Merck's people having been at Bioject's offices this week.

- No immediate revenue from the GeneMedicine deal, but the potential for licensing fees from other parties already involved with GMED.

- Any new products with GMED will be new drugs which will require FDA approval. More than a year to market.

- The intradermal device referred to in the press release, as being in front of the FDA, is a variation of the Biojector 2000, modified to spread medicine into the skin.

- Impressive inroads have been made in marketing the Biojector system to the US military.

- Bioject is continuing to seek out and talk to other companies about potential alliances.

- Q1 earnings report will be out within 2 weeks.

- New York City is considering expanding their Biojector vaccine program from only hepatitis B to other vaccines.

- The Hoffman-LaRoche device is in front of the FDA on a 510K. Once approved, that will help sales figures.

Hope this helps,
Marc Kahn
