Valueman, thanks for the Skynet post; informative stuff. A few questions--first, how significant is this for LOR? It seems like a pretty big deal, but since numbers weren't discussed it's hard to know for sure. Little, medium, big, humongous? [you get more points for the humongous response] second,EchoStar is just leasing transponders from LOR's Telstar 5 bird--EchoStar and LOR are not joining in any type of partnership (i.e., LOR ain't getting into the content business, despite the tone of the press release, right?). Last, is the DVB buzzword meaningful? Will SkyVista be beaming really wonderfully great picture/sound quality vis a vis DirecTV or is this just a little marketing pizzazz? Thanks in advance. P.S. I love it that an I*bird goes on the fritz and G* gets hammered--what are we down about 1/3 now? I'd be risking divorce if I buy any more satellite anything, but this is getting too good/ludicrous to pass up. It's either that or re-doubling my Amazon.com position, not. Best, Mike Doyle |
