Post on Raging Bull re ABC News piece

<<To All: Not 15 minutes ago, ABC Peter Jennings did a piece on the VISX FDA approval for farsightedness. It showed the procedure as follows:

1. Numbing drops in the eye (patient lying horizontally)
2. Cutting the 'flap' to expose the cornea.
3. Zapping with the laser.

They didn't show what happens after that step. According to Jennings, the procedure takes 15 minutes, costs $6,000 and up to 20% will need to be redone in time.

I think as we get closer to FDA approval, we need to let these publicists know there is a better mouse trap on the way. My concern is that all this press will scare people away from the procedure altogether. >>
