Actually hack was the wrong word. I've just noticed he's become a little more shrill in defending Apple, even against thoughtfully, negative comments. I do however believe that other than a handful, the thread has many participants who lack knowledge regarding the overall tech market. As to the G3 shortage in conjunction with price cuts, my suspicion is that Apple is getting ready to introduce newer G3's and are clearing inventory. Let's remember Apple is now 2nd only to Dell in inventory turn overs, once every 2 weeks vice Dell's once every week (roughly). There was also the IBM news article that they are preparing to ship copper based < 400 Mhz PPCs. The article intimated that Sept might be the target for limited release of these new Apple systems. Where Mot fits in this I'm not sure. I hope this is true. New systems will power that product line while iMacs are going strong and PBs are still strong. Lastly, while copper itself, probably doesn't add alot to this generation of chips (In fact it may add to the expense somewhat.), it's a great marketing bullet and it starts the PPC down the copper road well ahead of anyone else which will pay dividends in later generations.
