Well, if DeBeers is behind the machinations in MPV stock, which one certainly cant rule out, then they arent sparing Aber either. For Aber, what must be considered a benchmark for wannabe mines in the NWT, is taking out its 52 week lows. Now, there could be a million reasons why Aber is acting like it is. And, these same 1 million reasons could all be wrong. I have no clue but I strongly suspect that whatever is happening to the price of serious Canadian diamond companies is happening for a strong reason. And, I dont think those reasons have rat piss to do with their fundamentals. They have to do with something else.
Also, I dont think the institutions own quite as much stock as may think. Glenmore has more like 35% and the other 2 large US funds have about 15 %. Outside of this, not sure if other funds at this point in time own much more stock. But, I am not certain.
I really love your comments about knowing less now than 44 years ago. I hear you loud and clear. If there exists a more humbling preoccupation, I have yet to know of it. This business aint easy and there are no consistent rules except for taking money off the table when opportunity arises.
Also, that is an incredible story about Debeers and the national park. These people define the term heavy handed. |
