Thomas,

Good point about the book to bill. SEMI just announced .74 recently for industry-wide. Pretty sure this (finally) indicates a bottom. I still like the diversity of LSI.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach that man how to fish and feed him for a lifetime. The commodity companies have a good meal once in awhile, but LSI is the grizzled old fisherman.

I think DVD is going to take off quicker than anyone expected. It is gaining acceptance faster than VCR's, CD's or any other consumer item at the same stage of introduction. I would prefer if it would grow slower and keep margins high for as long as possible, but I think they will reduce margins and make a huge profit on high volume next year.
EVERYONE will be buying DVD's by the Holiday Season next year.

The nice thing is if it isn't DVD, it might be set-top boxes or any number of niches that LSI can fall back on. Then there's always Symbios. They picked it up at fire sale prices at the bottom of the industry cycle. I like what I see for future growth of the server/workstation storage market.

Should be interesting....
