Bill, your problem with Datek is a very common one.

I've been trading with them for quite some time and when it comes to trading certain stocks, you can certainly forget about it.

Stocks like Dell, Psix, Navr, Eggs will take a minimum of 3 minutes to execute most of the time on the sell side. For instance it took me 5 minutes to buy psix at market and 4:45 to sell Psix at MARKET! This has been true in countless situations.

I've noticed that on other stocks like xcit, lcos, as well as small caps, executions take just a few seconds. Most stocks only take a few seconds unless it' the first 1/2 hour of trading.

All I can figure out is that on those stocks above (and many more) that I have mentioned, your orders are sent to the back of the line marketable or not. Datek can tell you what ever they want about order routing, it's all false. It's the same answer you will get when calling their lousy customer service. The old saying use to be - The customer is always right. Datek's response is everythings fine. I talk to other datek employees and they tell me the computer system is messed up.

Sure feel safe here. Anyways Datek has been good to me for about 85% of my trades. For the other orders that take forever to execute, I recommend using MB Trading for those fast in and out movers. The commision is more but it's better than having your order in space for 5 minutes.
