DVD karaoke............. koreaherald.co.kr DVD-Based Karaoke to Debut Anticipating fast market growth in the near future, karaoke or song accompaniment system manufacturers are introducing new products equipped with digital versatile disc (DVD) devices. Open Production, a karaoke system vendor, recently shipped systems equipped with DVD ROM drives, the first firm to do so. To build a market for its new products, Open said it is willing to provide its technologies and DVD titles containing over 4,500 songs to rival firms. Two other song accompaniment system producers, BMB Korea and DMB Korea, are currently developing new products based on DVD technologies which will hit the market by the end of this year. Home appliance makers, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics, are also speeding up introduction of DVD-based karaoke systems. They are planning to release their products to the domestic and overseas markets this fall.
