I saw the E&S booth at Siggraph this week, as well as some demos during a "Visual Simulation" session. These guys have clue.

Their hardware is solid, but it may be that the bulk of the value in the company is their ability to understand and deliver large scale visual simulations, currently for the military markets. However, as compute power gets cheaper, their sim expertise would be transferable to commercial markets, to the "Holy Grail" of sims: auto driving simulators. (100Ks of units at ~~$30K a pop was the SWAG estimate in the session I attended.) Sims have a huge learning curve and E&S is well along the curve.
