A few weeks ago, someone post in this thread mentioned the possibility of the brokerage firm internal dicision not to make the shares shortable. I believe that very likely was the case. As I noticed that last time AMZN dropped from 143 to 100 range, it was very easy to obtain shares for short. I placed open orders at that time. That was how I added to my short position. I placed short order at 128. When the stock came back close to that level, I try to split that order but I could not since no share was available for short again.
