Jerome,
>>Still I remain a very bullish shareholder of the company as well as of M-Systems.
Gee it looks like SNDK is opening up shop right next door to FLSHF. Any thoughts? Collaboration perhaps?

SUNNYVALE, Calif.Dec. 9, 1996--SanDisk Corp. (NASDAQ:SNDK), the world's largest supplier of flash data storage products, today announced that it has established a design center in Tefen, Israel. The center, partially funded by a grant from the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SanDisk and went into operation Oct. 1. The center will utilize SanDisk flash semiconductor technology to design new, advanced flash storage products for specific applications. Eli Harari, SanDisk president and CEO, said, "We selected Israel as the site for our new design center for several reasons. Israel has favorable business conditions, a skilled and available work force that suits our needs and the country is a developing market for our products. Israel also is a member of the European Economic Community and that gives us easy access to the growing European market." He added, "The center is being staffed with the nucleus of a team that we believe will grow into a formidable organization. We plan to add more projects over time and grow the organization as the flash market matures and expands." The center, which initially is being staffed with six Israeli design engineers, is being headed by Simon Stolero, an experienced design engineer who formerly managed the research and development department, digital systems section, at RAFAEL, a defense contractor in Israel. SanDisk Corp., based in Sunnyvale, CA, designs, manufactures and markets industry-standard, solid-state data, image and audio storage products using proprietary, high density flash memory and controller technology. SanDisk has strategic alliances with Seagate Technology, Matsushita Electronic Corp., NEC Corp. and LG Semicon. Seagate holds a 25 percent equity stake in SanDisk. |
