From the Pulver Report:
1. The PSTN is NOT dead. Despite the hype and the noise from the Internet Telephony Industry, the PSTN will be around forever.

2. It's a done deal. Future Public Networks will be IP based. Until recently we all have been putting Data over Voice Networks. Now we will be putting Voice over Data Networks.

Anyone,
If the, "Public Switched Telephone Network." is going to be all IP based, then they will still be around. I agree. But won't ALL the switches be, "packet switches?" If so, then saying, "PSTN will be around forever," is just a matter of semantics. It will be around but it will look totally different. There won't be any TDM circuit switches when it's all IP based, right?
Any clarifications appreciated.
