IMHO this is the most important sentence in the PR. " Also during the quarter the Company launched a new Renovation Quality Evaluation(SM) (RQE) service to assist clients in evaluating the accuracy of their Year 2000 Renovations " I am reading more and more where companies think they are compliant and then the testing starts and everything falls apart. Any thoughts???

Bill, good point. A tool is only as good as the person using it. Give me the fastest race car in the world and there's still little chance I'll win Indy.

We software developers have an expression: RTFM ("read the manual"). On the surface it seems like developing tools is a low-overhead job: write once, sell many. Problem is you're always getting requests for things "I must have", there are usually bugs, and no matter how hard you try to make it easy to use, you inevitably get your share of the "how do I cook canned soup" crowd.

For PTUS to start heading back up in price, they need to start ramping up their factory and start nudging some of their customers saying "See, Y2K work is not as easy as it looks. Let us help."

The one fear I have about tool vendors is that one moronic customer who figures if they can't get the job done it must be the fault of the software-- and either sues or threatens to sue. These people can suck the life out of you by draining resources. As we move closer to 2000, I would hope PTUS would make a full switchover to a factory approach.
