Would you believe that that damned frog is still alive and perfectly healthy? My daughter brought it home from the pet store two years ago, and then neglected it so that it was on the point of death from hydrogen sulfide and other emanations from a neglected aquarium. I have learned how to catch ants all winter long. It looks like a one-fifth-scale ordinary American toad but was billed as an African frog and does like to swim at times.

I have received a number of suggestions that he be flushed down the toilet to bring the market down, but I think I will let both the frog and the market die a natural death.

I thought the life cycle of both phenomena was a lot shorter than it has turned out to me. I hope to outlive both, however.
