But if you are such a person, why do you check the price every hour? Your mind is made up, so go and wait for the company quarterlies to be mailed to you. I am not taking a personal shot at anyone here. It is your money and whatever makes you happy, stick with it.
Interest in the company. I think I speak for more than just myself when I say that I am in this company for the long-term - I just wish the long-term were shorter, and a plummeting stock price makes it seem much longer.
when I hear things like "I'm down 2 points, but I'm not worried because TDFX will be in 40s by the new year". (really no personal shot here I'm just using an example) Then reality is thrown out of the window. . . We need people invested in this stock who have realistic expectations. All others please sell your shares now. You save yourself and the rest of us a lot of money and stress.
All the stock needs to do is turn around and those expectations become not so unrealistic anymore. In any event, how does the unwavering holding of shares in any way detriment the stock performance? If anything the stock is at 13 because there are lots of people here who refuse to sell! Nor will they sell at 15, or 17 .. because their expectations for the stock are high - or "unrealistic" - whatever. I see this hope as a strength of the stock, not a weakness, because the hope is based on the strength of the company, not on the whim of the market.
