Time travel is another subject that I've had many discussions about. The wormhole, also called other things by science fiction writers for the last 60 years, is one way to describe the phenomenon of moving "outside" time, or better yet, perhaps "hyper-time". Time would be measured differently depending upon the position of the observer in the universe.
But movement backwards; arriving at a point in space prior to the point when you left? I don't see it. I believe that the movement of a physical object to a point in time prior to the one where it left is impossible, despite the many great films, stories and books the concept has inspired.
One of my favorites was a short story I read in the 6th grade, I don't recall who wrote it. It concerned a time travel tour company, you had to not disturb the environment at the place you went. The party went back to the time of dinosaurs, one of the guests accidentally killed a butterfly, and when they all got back to the "present", the language was different. It was a very amusing story.
I still think that with the right power source, almost anything is possible.
