why dont you visit both novartis.com and nestle.com and have a look at them? With both of them in Fortune 50 worldwide, you may realize
a) Novartis produces more than just flea killers and
b) Nestle does not make its stock holders rich by cheating on poor black kids with "no-apple" apple juice.

You may be surprised to see how many well-known trade names they carry. Try to make a list before you start (g).

How can you think of investing in companies which have a negative image in your eyes? I never could. Its my money after all.

Re being blue: both of them are as close to an exponential curve as it can get, with a pretty constant rate of return and low volatility. I see them as typical "buy&hold" base loads, similar to GE in a case of US-only portfolio.
