Speaking for the UW madison, you get your Mac from DOIT- the computer support department for the university. They keep a big whiteboard with items in stock, and current prices. They used to send you to a retailer, but the retailers were dropping the ball, and most students don't have cars, so going off campus was a hassle. WebDrone
