The S&P rating change is very bad for the stock price. I think the rating also reflects a general lack of confidence in IDT management.
Perhaps the best thing that can happen for the stock holders is for
IDT to be acquired by a larger more successful company. IDT lacks the
marketing and execution accumen to compete in the microprocessor
market. Will they suddenly acquire these badly needed abilities in
time to make a profit in the coming year and return to a growth rate
consistant with the semi sector? I don't think so.

It shouldn't surprise anyone if IDT were to throw in the towel and
find a suitable buyer. After all there's only so much the management will suffer continued losses. It has to be depressing....And costly for them. Maybe the downsizing of 400 employees and the plant closing is a step in this direction. What about the insider
purchases recently. Would you buy the stock in the face of a bad
earnings report? Not unless you know a nice profit is in the offing.
There may be nothing to any of this. But, I am keeping my eyes open for further signs of some kind of buyout or merger.
