Yet, bell Atlantic spokesman Jay Grossman called the reports of the shut down, specifically the WSJ article, "premature" and an "overstatement," saying the dissolving the partnership, as well as buying PacTel out so it may join SBC in Americast, were undecided options under considerations, not fait accompli. A PacTel spokesperson was even stronger, calling the article "completely false," adding that changes at the top, mainly Howard Stringer and Sandy Grushow, would happen, but the Tele-TV venture would endure in one form or another.
