This is not a true statement. There is plenty of technology out there that allows you to produce true thin client computing. Active Server Pages from MS is building a solid base of developers to build server side VBScript and JavaScript applications against SQL RDBMS and desktop database implementations. There is a huge number of ASP programmers out there and many more coming every day.

The problem with the current technology is the lack of consistent DHTML implementations. If this happens soon, there will be an explosion of thin client computing using these technologies.
