To all: I have been following this company and has been accumulating share whenever I have some spare cash. I am a clinical immunologist and used to live in San Diego, and I know some people who work there. I visited the company in March and talked to a member of the research staff, but mostly about possible research collaboration and the possibility of getting custum anti-sense oligos made. They have a very easy way of screening product candidates since they can simply do a Nothern blot or an RNase protection assay to see if the drug is working. The anti-sense oligos actually enter the cells and cause breakdown of the specific message. They can find a useful oligo within about 6 weeks. In contrast, it took Merck 10 years to develop Montelukast, their new asthma drug.
I think the anti-ICAM 1 anti-sense will be hot. ICAM-1 is involved in neutrophil and T cell migration into sites of inflammation, and one can look at this form of therapy as a replacement for corticosteroids. It this turns out to be true, it will be a blockbuster. I think their Crohn's data looks very interesting. I also know that they are inundated by requests from big drug firms to start new projects. One of the projects we discussed had tremendous potential. I am looking for a 50 to 100 fold return from this investment eventually.
Just my opinion.

Adrian
