An elementary question:
I just made my first short-term trade: jumped into DGII right after it announced disappointing earnings and had dipped a few points, then jumped out after riding it back up over the next week. After commissions I netted only $117. I know it's not a loss, but it's not much of a gain either.
My question is this: How does one compute the amount of money to invest in a short term play? And do you figure out beforehand what each fractional movement up or down means to your wallet?
