Me again. As far as knowing who they are, don't hold your breath. Just because you have given up the right to privacy by posting a message in a public forum or by putting biographical information in your profile does not mean that people who choose to view that public information should give up their right to privacy just because they choose to read it or bookmark it.

Look at it another way. The Peoplemark and SubjectMark features on SI simply facilitate the bookmarking process by storing it on the SI server for your later retrieval and use. There is absolutely nothing to prevent someone from bookmarking the exact same URLs in their browser bookmarks and accessing it that way. SI has absolutely no knowledge if the requested page was accessed via a SI supplied link, a browser bookmark, or by someone typing it in manually, or from an email, or from a URL posted to another Internet site such as Yahoo.

So, if SI were to supply a list of people who PeopleMark&#174 you, it would only paint a partial picture.

I guess if it were to be implemented by SI, it would have to require that each member set an option that either allows or prevents people they have bookmarked access to that knowledge. An all-or-nothing proposition - similar to the current ability to block all private messages.
