lol Barney. Warts? That's funny Jack.

I thought they were extinct. Last time I heard of anybody that had any was in the 50's.

A funny story, but true.

About 15 yrs. ago I was traveling with my brother-in-law to check on the horses he owned. He was going to talk to a man who was supposed to be taking good care of his horses on his ranch. He had been told by others that his horse was not being well cared for by the keeper. He ws told that this guy had a real mean streak. My brother-in-law was not convinced and wanted to talk to the guy personally about it.

At some point in this 2hr drive we began, for some unknown reason,(which I don't remember anyway) discussing warts. And how they used to be a common sight on many people...in the good old days.
Well then that led to talking about the "Wizard of Oz" and how the mean old witch had a big one right on her nose, and we jokingly concluded that, that is where they got their start, from meanness.!

Well of course we moved on to bigger and better conversations.

Some time later we arrived at the ranch. We were greeted at the gate by a ranch hand who directed us to the area of the horse and it's keeper. We pulled into a parking area, and lo and behold the keeper approach us and my brother-in-law and I almost laughed ourselves to death. He had the biggest and ugliest warts we had ever seen...all over his face. No kidding Jack it took us about 5 min. to compose ourselves.

Well we finally did compose ourselves...,apologized, and told the guy that we had heard something funny on the radio just before we got out of the car.

To make a long story short it turned out that the guy was the kindest, most gentle man either of us had ever encountered. He loved this horse and the horse loved him.

So much for rumors and and snap conclusions about Wizards and witches with warts.

Have a good weekend
Shalom....><>
BTW...we did laugh all the way home...and for weeks after that...to this day we still at times remember that event with a good laugh.
