It is amazing to me that the short interest actually increased prior to the earnings announcement. There was not that much buying the week leading up to earnings, so it doesn't seem likely that much of the short position was covered. Since earnings it is reasonable to assume that the short position only increased. What are these people waiting for, anticipating, gambling on etc.? Who remains short in a stock that will soon split and which is heading into their prime season for sales and profits? I don't get it but have to deal with the reality of it.
