WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BW HealthWire)--July 22, 1998-- GartnerGroup's Information Technology (IT)
Healthcare division, the world's leading provider of research on healthcare IT and markets, today announced the
release of its ninth annual Integrated Delivery System (IDS) Market Segment Database, now with a graphical user
interface.

The database survey results indicate that the year 2000 crisis is the runaway systems priority among IDSs in 1998,
ahead of clinical information systems as a priority by a 2-to-1 margin.

''In 1997, the year 2000 crisis was not even on the radar screen of the 340 IDSs we profiled; in 1998, it's
overwhelmingly the No. 1 systems issue,'' said Dave Garets, GartnerGroup Research Director. ''The good news is
that IDSs are finally paying attention to the year 2000; the bad news is that their spending is totally inadequate to
