"You are right about foreign investment and mutual fund inflows. Very important numbers to keep our eyes on. I always wait for Maria to announce the mutual flow number on Friday mornings(CNBC)."

Now from yesterday's Market Rap with Bill Fleckenstein:
"It is interesting to note that there were $1.7 billion in mutual fund outflows this week (Maria wasn't chirping about AMG data this morning, I guess she only likes inflows). I don't ever remember there being outflows this close to the peak, we usually need a protracted decline before we see them. I can only remember ten weeks in three years with outflows, so it could be a big deal."

Stich,
Just in case you didn't pick up the number for the past week I thought I would post it. I remember two times in the last 6 months (vauge estimates) where outflows were closely followed by a rally. So I'm not sure what to make of this past week's numbers.

And I don't understand what Fleckenstein said. I guess "peak" could mean anything and so can "protracted decline." I don't understand what he is driving at.
