William is brainwashed. Most people don't equate stores with brands. Amazon.com has created broad recognition among internet users but that is so fresh of an experience among most people that it will be fleeting. Newbies to the net will just see whoever's ad happens to flash up at the time they want to buy a book and they will click on the link. Otherwise, they will use Yahoo!, Excite or other to find one out of 100 stores listed. B & N or Borders may click in their brains because they subconsciously remember driving past a store that afternoon. Amazon.com will start losing market share that matters from now on - Amazon.com management said so much in their conference call.

BTW, I checked out the book bot and only found similarly priced suppliers - no deep discounters that I had found on my own searches. Must be price fixing.
