Chris (and all),
I have not been to involved with this conversation but just wanted to interject one thought. Please tell me what you or anyone else on this thread thinks!
What if both camps were right? By both camps I mean, the camps you specify of one for the Christ and the Jews and one for Christ and his Church.
I heard a great preacher who I admire and respect greatly preach that there were two different tracts of scripture talked about in the bible running parallel. One track of the church and one track of Israel! He painted the picture of two railroad tracks running parallel, that converge somewhere down the tracks into one track, or one church!
If this were true, and I never really shook out his theory thouroughly (maybe the thread can help me), both sides could be right. Wouldn't that be beautiful!
Anyway, I thought if the thread and I could come to the realization that this was possible, we would all have peace! But we need to discover if this viewpoint could be true according to the scriptures only. Not just because we like it!
