Regarding the article on MS Investor (investor.msn.com):
One little irritating mistake: SAP is located in Walldorf (not Mundheim, whereever that is), just outside of Heidelberg, about an hour from Frankfurt.
Ok,to the serious stuff:
an analyst is quoted who thinks SAP shouldn't develop its own Supply Chain Management (scm) Software and buy up the company I2 instead. That is a strange underestimate of SAP's development capacities. SAP has been proclaiming a strong push into the scm (SAP SCOPE Initiative encompassing 4 new products) and look what happened to the competition in that field (ITWO and MANU). Manu's stock crashed about 2 months ago. This Friday
I2 's stock lost 23% after an analyst conference call.Check the SI
threads on these companies. The MS Investor missed the boat on the importance of the SAP investment in ILOG for scm by the way.
At least from a stockholders view that tells me something about SAP's strength.
