When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought...what a great idea, a forum for women who trade and invest.
Not that men and women cannot learn from each other on SI, for we certainly can, but what attracted me here is what has attracted me elsewhere in life too, and that is the opportunity for women to get together and share without the distractions that can come with the influence of the differences of a man's perspective and style.
SI seems to be largely male populated and dominated, and so I looked forward to the presence of this particular thread as a way I could achieve more balance for myself.
As I have browsed through the thread, I have seen some very interesting and intelligent postings, clearly many by successful women traders and investors. To participate in such an environment, without getting immersed in the conflicts that rage elsewhere, this is what I had hoped for.
This is not to say that what is news on SI should not ever be discussed here, even that which is negative, for we need to be informed and alert about what we wish to avoid as well as that which we will want to pursue. However, I would be discouraged and lose my interest quickly to see men (or women) visit this thread for the sole purpose of setting us straight on the pros and cons, on who is right and who is wrong, and to inspire the kinds of never ending and useless debates that so often occur on other threads. Especially, I would not be interested in any ego driven displays of skillful argument that might be brought here.
