I agree with you that there is tremendous risk at this point. I think several scenarios are likely, but it is hard to choose between them. I think the market will go up initially on Monday- I know some of the internets that I am watching, YHOO, AMZN and AOL certainly look like they will go up in the morning, and they could go up quite a bit, on that initial impulse of bargain hunters, but when that dries up I'll bet there will be no one left to buy and they will go down. When the high flyers start to crater, I think the first reaction of investors will be to buy "safer" stocks. Possibly the dow stocks, the big caps. But if they fail too, then I think we could have panic when investors perceive that not even the market leaders are safe.
