Emile, as I said before, I am not questioning your wife's perceptions of what happened to her, and it is very nice to know that she got well. However, a precancerous condition and having six months to live are two totally different concepts, medically speaking, and as I said before, the ways that we heal ourselves are not totally known. Ulcerative colitis also has a strong emotional component, and simply turning this illness over to a higher power of some sort could result in the reduction of stress to the body and a feeling of peace which would result in healing. As a parallel, some alcoholics and drug addicts start recovering when they have done much the same thing. That does not mean there is a God, or that Jesus has healed them. It simply means that because of their belief systems, they have developed a frame of mind which is healing by nature. There are many things we do not yet understand about healing, but that does not in any way prove supernatural interference.
Certainly, any good shaman or witch could also cite instances of spontaneous healing, and they would believe that it was magic. This is just the kind of superstition that Christians accuse pagans of, as a matter of fact, but they have exactly the same mind set.
Are you saying that your opinions are superior to mine, or that you don't have the compulsion to always have them? Oh, please!!!!!! |
