miss penni and George, "Can't we just let it be?" The reason that I am not willing to "just let it be" is that I am not willing to let stand the censorship of evolution in our textbooks, the intrusion of Christians in the right of women to choose abortion or not, the attempt by Christians to impose coerced prayer in our public schools and other public institutions, including courtrooms, and the constant references that non-Christians are somehow immoral, for starters. Add to that all of the reasons cited by Sam in his excellent posts today. As I have said before, I refuse to remain silent while these things are going on. To remain silent is to acquiesce and concede to the mythologists. I am not willing to do that. During the time when Christians justified slavery with Bible quotes would you have also said "Can't we just let it be?" The Christian wrong is now trying to turn this country into a theocracy. I'm not just going to "let it be". In any other public forum Sam and I would be shouted down. Praise be the Internet! Del
