Christine, I vilify greenpeace activist because their arguments are pathetically weak. As you take up their positions one-by-one with hardly any effort I am able to blast logical holes in them with ease. Their proposal to ban dolphins from use by the Navy is yet another in a long list. Also, I don't appreciate an organizations who's sole purpose seems to be hatred toward the people serving on nuclear submarines.

They haven't a clue what it's like to serve on a nuclear submarine, and yet they yell and curse at it's inhabitants whenever they have an opportunity. How would you feel if the Christian right were camped outside your house yelling and screaming "Pagan go away" "Pagan go away"? I have had dozens of such encounters with Greenpeace activists, from all over the world. Not to mention being nearly killed by a mob of them in Scotland. Most people in the U.S. fed by the liberal press, have only seen the images of activists trying to save a whale or seal pup. I have seen with my own eyes their zealot cruelty toward fellow sailors. Sailors who are only doing their job, and something they believe in. You have NO idea what the Greenpeace activists were like in the early eighties in Europe. I do, I witnessed their cruelty first-hand, talked with them, and found myself in a situation where I was almost killed by them.

Regarding the ugly Americans issue... It's true that there are many people who view Americans as ugly, I won't deny that. But I have travelled Christine, and that is not the predominant view around the world, or in Europe. I could fill the servers of SI with wonderful stories of hospitality I have been privileged to receive while traveling around Europe and the far east in uniform. Europe especially. Most people have a decent respect for America, and an awe toward their people, technology and way of life. In Europe there are still quite a few people who remember the sacrifices our brave soldiers made to free them from the bondage of Hitler.

I don't view American people as superior to other people around the world. I understand this is a difficult concept for you, but I simply have a great love and unending pride in my country.

Because you have a deep love for your family, does that mean you think less of the neighbors across the street?

Michael
