Zhang,

>"China is changing for the better."<

Thank you for more insight into the internal situation in China. So much of what we get from the media does not reflect the changes being made there and posts like yours enlighten and make us realize the difficulties China faces in it's transition to capitalism and a freer society.

>"First, AEHCF has Chinese subsidiaries that are bona fide local Chinese companies (I do not know much about AEHCF itself)."<
This is one of the few actual 'Chinese' companies that have IPO'd in the US, but there are many looking to IPO. The situation with Qingsong Du will make it much more difficult for these offerings to be successful.

You bring out an important point in Qingsong Du being a Communist Party member and subject to the policies of the Party - as he has likely benefited from the Party membership. It still comes as a surprise that a man as powerful in local politics, as he apparently is, would be treated in this way.

Again, thanks for an excellent post and we would appreciate more input on the internal situation in China.

FWIW,
Ron
