CLCK took a real nose dive at the end of last week when the FDIC closed down BestBank which has been the greatest source of past revenues for Columbia Capital:

fdic.gov

I spoke with Ken Klotz president of CLCK before the following press release was issued and he seemed fine about the whole issue and how the FDIC was handling it:

biz.yahoo.com

Our stock cratered from a high on Tuesday of 5 3/8's to a low of 2 7/8's when it was announced that the bank was heading into receivership. After CLCK issued it's press release the stock recovered to close at 3 11/16's. The bank hopefully will be reopened on Monday with no loss of business to Columbia Capital.

Can I guarantee this will happen? No way, but I would like to remind owners of the stock of the following statement from the company press release:

"Management of the Company believes that this event will have no significant effect on the operation, revenue or profitability of the Company. The Company continues to operate as it did previously."

There is no warning here about the potential loss of business if the bank is sold to the wrong business. Why is that? Hopefully it will all be cleared up in a positive fashion for CLCK investors as early as Monday. If I am reading this situation right then investors are getting an opportunity to buy the very same company they were buying on Tuesday at 5 3/8's for an almost a 30% discount.

John Westergaard, Y2K guru, mentioned CLCK last week at his site:

wbn.com:8080/PE/1998/week98072024/wed.html#clck

A full write up will be made available to readers at that site this week. I take a contrarian view on this one. Contrary to those who would panic and sell into the fear that surrounds an event like this one. I have to simply have to say that we have a stock that is now lower in price and therefore a better value. Things may look bad but why is management seemingly unconcerned? Nothing bad has actually happened yet. I'm hoping arrangements have already been made that will be in the best interests of CLCK shareholders. Could I be wrong? Of course, but I sure hope not!

Regards, Jeff
