Just got back from family reunion in Wisconsin. Saw the 5-second news byte about the Senate's resolution 1Hr before markets opened on Friday. It put a knot in my stomach. However, I have had some time to reflect since then. I have come to the conclusion, just my opinion, that it is simply lip service at this time. Even if it manages to eventually get approved by Congress (don't they have the final say, unless the president vetoes it?) it will probably be left open to interpretation in its watered down version. And whatever agency is put in charge of enforcing it, it will probably be so under funded and overwhelmed at the prospect of trying to enforce a law, that for all intents and purposes is unenforceable, internet gambling won't be stoppable. There is also an upside to this; can you imagine what would happen if gambling on the Internet was made legal? All our profits would be eaten up by the competition, as thousands of individuals put up their our site in the US of A.
