You are crazy. The Alpha 21264 is the fastest chip there is. There is none that comes even close. That chip at 575MHz is built on 0.35um process. The speed will be in the 700MHz+ when they go to 0.25um.

I have an article in front of me here from Microprocessor Report of October 28,1996 title "Digital 21264 Sets New Standard". This article was published even before 1st silicon. It estimated the following:

Speed........500MHz.........575MHz
SPECint95.....30.............30.3
SPECfpu95.....50.............47.7

That article was on target. I suggest you pick up that article and study the architecture before you talk rubbish. You will know why DEC is superior to Intel.
